This is the XXII edition of Arab Days, organized annually by the Department of Middle East and North Africa.
Particularly noteworthy are the inaugural lecture on the current situation in Syria, which will be delivered by the native Prof. Fuad Jomma of the University of Szczecin, as well as a meeting with Prof. Marek Dziekan on his latest book, which he translated from Arabic. “The Message of Forgiveness” by Al-Ma'arri is sometimes compared to ‘The Divine Comedy’ from Dante - it is one of the most important works of classical Arabic literature.
In addition to meetings with established scholars, the conference will be a chance to present papers by young, talented researchers interested in the politics and culture of individual Arab countries, as well as social issues.
Do you want to find out what the future holds for Iraq and Syria, what the Kurds and Berbers dream of, what is neo-Pharaonism in Egypt or surrogacy in the United Arab Emirates?
Be sure to come and listen!
More details about the conference and the program are available on the Department of Middle East and North Africa's website (in Polish).
