Bądź sobą z UniLodz – to proste!

June is all year long at UniLodz, because values such as respect, understanding, openness and tolerance are permanent elements of our academic community. We have undertaken and continue to undertake a number of activities aimed at creating an environment in which everyone can be themselves!

Support for transgender and non-binary people

We want to not only educate but also train and shape new generations. We want to create a #HumanUniversity, which is why for almost a year now our university has had a support system for transgender and non-binary people, thanks to which students and doctoral candidates can use their preferred names and pronouns in Microsoft 365 tools (including Outlook, Teams).

Detailed information on support and the principles of the system can be found on Support for the University of Lodz Transgender and Non-Binary Students and Doctoral Students page. At every stage of the process, you can count on the help of the Support and Accessibility Centre of the University of Lodz, where trained professionals provide confidential consultations tailored to the specific needs of transgender and non-binary people and provide assistance with using appropriate names, surname endings and pronouns, as well as with contacts with university administration and course instructors.

We create #UniLodz together!

Equality and Inclusion – Marketing Job Titles

Every person in our community matters. Together we are building a place where differences do not divide but enrich, where everyone can be themselves, which is why, in addition to the possibility of adding gender marking in job titles and functions in the employee portal, we have also enabled the addition of marketing job titles and more descriptive forms of the scope of duties so that you can best reflect your role in the university structure.

We want you to be able to express yourself as you are!

Strength lies in diversity

We launched a series of training sessions and the #UniLodz UNIFIED campaign in May 2025. It is a new initiative to build a safe, supportive and equal work environment at the University of Lodz.

Diversity is our strength – that is why we want to create a space full of support, understanding and tolerance for our entire academic community.

The University of Lodz Support and Accessibility Centre, which provides psychological support and assistance crisis interventions, is already operating at the University of Lodz. We have managed to establish the Equality Council, Discrimination and Mobbing Prevention Coordinator, along with the implementation of new procedures. We have also appointed the Ombudsman for Academic Rights, who supports people experiencing disturbing situations, and this is just the beginning of our activities!

People working at UniLodz will learn how to build an equal workplace and how to react to undesirable situations by taking part in training covering five key areas that are important in the context of the needs of our community. These include training on discrimination, communication that builds cooperation and trust, responding to inappropriate behaviour, resolving difficult and conflict situations, and multiculturalism.

Together we can create a place that is friendly for everyone!

Let’s assess – but only coursework. Let’s open our minds – not just to knowledge. Let’s respect one another – no buts!
