Representatives of the University of Lodz – Hieronim Cieślak, a second year Asian Studies student and secretary of the "Al-Mashrik" Middle East Student Science Club, and Dr Natalia Zajączkowska, an Arabic studies expert and the expedition's research and teaching supervisor – appeared on the Arabic-language "Bilisan Arabi" radio by the Sultanate of Oman Radio. The broadcast was hosted by Huzaim Mohammed Ghashim Al-Manei, an Arabic language teacher at the Sultan Qaboos Institute in Manah.
The entire conversation was in literary Arabic, which was not only a great honour but also a testament to the high linguistic competence of the UniLodz representatives. The guests of the broadcasts poke about studying in Poland, what it's like to learn Arabic at the University of Lodz, and the professional and academic prospects that knowledge of oriental languages opens up.
Cultural differences, experiences from travelling in Arab countries and academic cooperation between Poland and the Arab world were also discussed.
