Nasz naukowiec na międzynarodowej konferencji o socjologii sportu

Dr Michał Kobierecki (Faculty of International and Political Studies) participated in the 21st European Conference for the Sociology of Sport, entitled "Sport and the World in Crisis: Challenges and Solutions" taking place on 25-27 June of the current year. He presented his paper on the changes in citizenship status of Russian athletes as a result of sanctions imposed on Russian sport following Russia's aggression against Ukraine. As a winner of the first edition of the UNIC Expert Voices Fund, Dr Kobierecki received funding for his trip. The aim of the competition is to disseminate the results of cooperation with UNIC Alliance partners, while the results of the research presented at the conference are the result of our researcher's cooperation with Prof. Gijsbert Oonek from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, our partner within the Alliance.

The conference was attended by researchers from around the world, including Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. The discussions focused on the broadly understood social significance of sport, particularly in today's crisis-ridden times.

The participation in the conference, apart from being an opportunity to establish scientific contacts and present research results, was an opportunity to present the effects of research cooperation taking place within UNIC – reports the scientist from the Faculty of International and Political Studies, University of Lodz
