UniLodz for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP)! Join Our 2 Staffs

"Healthy tummies of our children" is the slogan of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) this year. The 34th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will be held on 25 January 2026. As always, our university community is participating in the campaign in various ways. Once again, two large groups formed by the University of Lodz students will be taking part, inviting you to join their efforts to jointly support this year's WOŚP goal – the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in the youngest patients.

The University of Lodz WOŚP Staff with hundreds of volunteers and unique attractions

It’s the second time that our university will have its own staff. It is coordinated by our students. We invite the entire University of Lodz community to get involved.

The staff is registering volunteers to collect donations with collection boxes. There are almost 400 of them, which makes it one of the largest staffs in the province. Those who want to collect donations on the streets on the day of the WOŚP Grand Finale can still sign up until 5 January, as there are only few places left.
Simply visit the registration page and sign up by selecting #6748 University of Lodz staff.

On 25 January visitors to Port Łódź will be treated to numerous scientific attractions and more, prepared by members of the University of Lodz's student science clubs – Supply Chain Management Student Science Club, Invertebrate Zoology Student Science Club, Middle East Al-Maszrik Student Science Club, Bio-Mik Student Science Club and East Asia and Pacific Student Science Club. Students from the Medical University will also be present – the International Association of Students of Medicine,  Powidoki Student Science Club. Attractions will include a wheel of fortune, a teddy bear hospital, cytology and breast self-examination, an Arabic calligraphy stand, a display of bacteria and fungi under a microscope, origami folding and much, much more.

The University of Lodz WOŚP Staff has also prepared something for lovers of two wheels – on the weekend of 24-25 January, the Harley Owners Group Lodz Chapter Poland will be exhibiting at Port Łódź – you will be able to see numerous motorcycles, take photos with them and enjoy other attractions.

WOŚP is an ideal opportunity to support those in need in various ways. Those who wish to become potential bone marrow donors will find a DKMS stand at Manufaktura Shopping Centre and Port Łódź on the weekend of 24-25 January.

The UniLodz WOŚP Staff also invites you soon, on 10 January at 5:00 p.m., to the Wytwórnia in Lodz for a Charity Concert for WOŚP. The event will feature artists such as Monika Urlik, Marcin Jajkiewicz, and the Medical University of Lodz Choir. A performance by the amateur theatre group Cogito is also among the attractions. The band Feel will be the headliner of the evening.

Unusual auctions that do good

The University of Lodz WOŚP Staff also organises auctions, including those prepared by members of our community.

For the second time, the Rector of the University of Lodz, Rafał Matera, together with the Rector's Board, are offering a unique opportunity to support WOŚP – a lift to your exam:

I like driving people around and talking to them, so we are repeating the ‘Ride with the Rector’ auction at WOŚP 2026! I offer the winner or winners of the auction a lift to their exam – I can take a maximum of 6 people and will adjust to the dates. If I bring luck, so much the better! But remember – unfortunately, I won't learn for those sitting for an exam.

With the fast-approaching winter examination session, it's the perfect time to bid. The auction runs until 26 January.

The University of Lodz Library has also prepared its own offerings. Bids are available for a unique card that opens the door to the prestigious services of the University of Lodz Library, or for a special tour of our library, including the Bookbinding Workshop, where the most valuable literary artifacts are preserved. During the event, we will present unique works from special collections, not normally available to readers.

The third auction by the library is a unique copy of "A Treatise on Good Work" by Tadeusz Kotarbiński – the first Rector of the University of Lodz and one of the most important thinkers in Polish humanities. This 1969 edition has been specially crafted by the University of Lodz Library Bookbinding Workshop, making it a true collector’s item.

There are more auctions organised by the UniLodz WOŚP Staff, including unique paintings and a breakfast with Prof. Joanna Senyszyn. You should definitely check them out and bid.

Also, be sure to check out the staff's Facebook and Instagram profiles. Any submissions or questions should be sent to the staff's email address: wosp.uni.lodz@gmail.com

Feel welcome to play with us!

Investor Student Science Club Staff is building a heart of gold coins with the inhabitants of Lodz

Members of the Student Science Club “Inwestor” will form a WOŚP staff to organise the "Let's Build a Heart Together" project for the 17th time!

This extraordinary initiative by our brave students is about building good together – literally! During the project's finale at Manufaktura Shopping Centre, they will once again create a giant heart made of gold coins, a symbol of unity and solidarity, along with residents of Lodz and the surrounding area. There will be many attractions for the event participants, including a photo booth, face painting, and a merchandise stand. Collect pennies and build a heart with us on the last Sunday of January. You can't miss our stand!

You don't have to wait until the Orchestra Finale on 25 January to support the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The team of the Student Science Club Inwestor has prepared an e-money box for the 17th edition of the "Let's Build a Heart Together" project.

The Investor Student Science Club and the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz are organising a charity concert, which will be held on 18 January at 7:00 p.m. at ROKEiDM at 1 Maja 4 Avenue in Lodz. We can reveal that this year's event will feature a musical and stage-based approach. Details of the programme and ticket availability will be announced soon on the project's Facebook page.

This year, thanks to our partnership with the Academy of Music in Lodz, we've launched a new initiative that allows you to help in a unique way. We encourage you to participate in our charity auction, organised as part of the "Let's Build a Heart Together" project. The auction is for an exclusive, private tour of the Karol Poznański's Palace – the headquarters of the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz – combined with a gala dinner in the Palace's historic interiors with the Rector, Prof. Elżbieta Aleksandrowicz.
A tour of the historic Karol Poznański’s Palace is a unique opportunity to discover cultural heritage of the city, particularly its industrial past, as well as the history and present of the Lodz Music Academy. The palace is not only an architectural gem but also a renowned film set. This is where scenes for films such as ‘The Promised Land’ and ‘The Doll’ from 1968 were shot, and scenes for the latest film adaptation of ‘The Doll’ are currently being filmed. The winner of the auction will be able to invite up to three accompanying persons to participate in the event with them.

We encourage you to follow the "Let’s Build a Heart Together" project fan page and the Student Science Club “Inwestor” profile, to stay up-to-date and not miss any details.
