The numbers speak for themselves
According to data from the latest report of the National Agency of the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps, as many as 348 students of the University of Lodz took part in the programme. This is a truly impressive result, showing that more and more of you want to take advantage of the wide range of development opportunities available at our university. The opportunity to go abroad was also taken up by 343 employees of the University of Lodz, who gained new knowledge and experience that they can now share with you during classes.
The Humane University in the TOP 3
The University of Lodz is also the Humane University – an open, diverse and safe space for all students, doctoral students and employees of the university. That is why we proudly look at our 3rd place in the ranking of the most frequently chosen universities in the Erasmus+ programme, within which we had the pleasure of hosting over 700 international students. This is a great distinction for us. We are delighted with the strong interest in and trust placed in our university.
All right, but what is it actually about?
The Erasmus+ programme allows you to gain international experience both through studies and traineeships. Its main aim is not only to develop academic competences, but also to prepare young people to function on the European labour market.
What is the difference between studies and traineeships?
In the case of study mobility, the programme gives you the opportunity to complete a part of your curriculum at partner universities across Europe. Thanks to the ECTS credit system, courses completed abroad are recognised in your home degree programme, which allows you to maintain the continuity of your studies.
Traineeships, in turn, enable you to gain professional experience in an international environment. You can undertake traineeships in companies, non-governmental organisations or educational institutions.
Erasmus is not for you? Check out our other options!
Do you dream of developing your competences without leaving home? We have something for you! Open Courses within the UNIC Alliance or the JLU Virtual International Programme are just a part of the offer of free online classes we have prepared for you. As part of virtual mobility, you can participate in courses delivered by 10 partner universities from across Europe.
If you are interested in a shorter form of mobility than a several-month exchange, you will also find something for yourself. Under the Erasmus+ programme, you can take part in BIPs (Blended Intensive Programmes). These are short, intensive programmes combining a physical stay abroad (from 5 to 30 days) with an online component, thanks to which you can gain new experiences in an international environment and earn ECTS credits.
International scholarships offered by NAWA (e.g. Bekker, Zawacka), DAAD and others are another option. They enable you to go abroad for studies, research or academic development at foreign institutions. It is a good opportunity to gain new experiences, get to know a different academic environment and develop not only academically but also linguistically.
If, on the other hand, you do not want (or are not able) to go abroad, the MOST Programme, a kind of “Polish version of Erasmus”, is an interesting alternative It enables you to spend a semester or a full academic year at another university in Poland. This is a good opportunity to try something new, get to know other lecturers and an academic environment, while continuing to pursue your degree programme at your home university.
Regardless of which path you choose – going abroad, online courses or mobility within Poland – it is a great opportunity to gain new experiences and develop your competences. You should take advantage of it and check which option suits you best.
