"Sails, Wind and the Vistula Lagoon" – Sailing Camp Begins

A sailing camp for students with disabilities and special needs, organised by the Support and Accessibility Centre of the University of Lodz, began on Sunday, 5 July 2026.

Opublikowano: 07 July 2026

The participants departed from Lodz for Tolkmicko on the Vistula Lagoon.

As early as Monday, the group sailed to Frombork – one of the most beautiful towns in Warmia, inextricably linked with Nicolaus Copernicus. The programme included a visit to the cathedral, featuring a unique organ presentation, Radziejowski Tower with its panoramic view of the Vistula Lagoon, the Treasury, the cathedral attic, the Bishop’s Palace and the Hospital of the Holy Spirit – one of the few medical museums in the region.

This is not an ordinary trip. We want to show that sailing adventures and active leisure are accessible to everyone, regardless of their limitations

– says Piotr Jaworowicz, the camp leader.

Our goal is to create a space where everyone can develop at their own pace and gain as much as possible from this experience

– adds Agnieszka Michałowska-Gabryelczyk, an employee of the Support and Accessibility Centre.

The camp will continue until 12 July. Participants can look forward to daily cruises on the Vistula Lagoon and the Bay of Gdańsk, sailing training sessions and evening integration bonfires.

Updates from the camp can be followed on the event’s profile.
