The event was a part of the official programme accompanying the 10th anniversary Summit of the Presidents of the Three Seas Initiative and the Three Seas Business Forum in Warsaw.
The aim of the conference was to deepen knowledge on the economic dimension of regional cooperation within the Three Seas Initiative – especially in the context of infrastructure, connectivity and intra-EU integration. The event was attended by representatives of the scientific community, experts and representatives of public and private institutions from the countries of the region. The conference partners included: the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw and Mykolas Romeris University.
The conference was attended by Dr Agata Włodarska-Frykowska, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the University of Lodz, supporting the presence of our university in this event of international importance. Dr Barbara Jundo-Kaliszewska from the Department of Theory of Politics and Political Thought of the University of Lodz, supervisor of the Central and Eastern Europe Student Science Club was the co-organiser of the conference. The event is a continuation of her active scientific and organisational activities – last year, in cooperation with the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, she co-organised a scientific conference accompanying the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Vilnius.
This year's event also had an educational dimension – students from the Central and Eastern Europe Student Science Club of the University of Lodz actively participated in it. It was a unique opportunity for them to gain organisational and scientific experience. The students also visited the Lithuanian Embassy in Poland, which additionally enriched their visit to Warsaw with a diplomatic dimension.
The participation of the University of Lodz in this prestigious event is further evidence of the university's active involvement in international academic cooperation and expert dialogue on the key challenges of the Central and Eastern European region.
